 Random driving, saw this sign so we followed it...

 Mt. Hollywood Hiking Trail

We drove to the top of this mountain hill and the parking lot was packed.  This trail looks way cool but we did not hike it.  I snapped some more pictures and then drove back down the hill...

 The Observatory from our parking spot

Located at 800 E Observatory Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027, we parked about 3/8ths of a mile down the hill and then began our hike to the top.  The place was totally packed.  Entrance and parking is free however some of the exhibits would cost you something?  We kept it free...
