Days 964 - 969: X Factor - USC

Day #964 * Hike #1231* New Track #951
Exploring North Ridge, CA
Sunday July 7, 2013
My Tripometer: 2.5 Hours * 5 Miles * +0 Feet

A day earlier I hiked up in Santa Barbara and accumulated nearly 10 miles.  With little elevation gain, I was not sore at all.  However, Sammi was tick infested and unable to move.  We were concerned that she broke a leg or something but as it turned out, later in the week she was back to normal and as usual, escaping from our fenced in yard to roam the neighborhood.

On this day we hiked around the mall in North Ridge, out to the streets from the Soccer Fields to the Orange Grove.  I have pictures on my new phone but for some reason, I cannot share them???

Monday & Tuesday: Duplicate walks in Port Hueneme...

Day #967 * Hike #1234* New Track #952
X Factor - USC - Los Angeles, CA
Wednesday July 10, 2013
My Tripometer: 3.5 Hours * 1.5 Miles * +0 Feet

Leaving work early, Jess and ALyssa picked me up to tour the USC area and watch the auditions to the X Factor.  First time for me down at USC, crazy busy down here.  honestly, the area is pretty junky.  Better off going to a good Big Ten School like: The Ohio State!!!

The auditions were pretty weak for the most part.  A couple of good singers at best.  Simon was late and the three girl judges chatter too much without saying much...

After the show we got some FroYo.  Man, must have been a constant 20-30 people in this shop.  Craziness.  We need some traffic flow like that in Port Hueneme!!!

Okay, where did we park our car?  $20.00 for the spot and searching, searching, ah, there it is.  I think we tallied more than 1.5 miles but we'll keep it conservative...

Day #967 * Hike #1235* New Track #953
Hoover Recreational Center - Los Angeles, CA

Giraldo Ares Community Building
Wednesday July 10, 2013
My Tripometer: 1.25 Hours * 1.25 Miles * +0 Feet

Rather than heading straight home, we drove through the ghettofied area and came across this park.  It was pretty neat, yet slummy.  Nevertheless, we walked around the dirt track and worked out on the exercise equipment.  Using your own weight, the machines were set up to work every muscle of your body.  Many people were in training while others were playing basketball and back yard soccer.

Thursday and Friday were duplicate night hikes at Arroyo Verde...
