Wairere Falls - New Zealand

We left the Bethells cottage in the early morning, drove past Auckland and into the land for the first time this trip. A couple hours into our trip, we stopped for a break:

Kaimai Air Crash Memorial Site
We made several turns off the "main road" and there were signs pointing to this site. It was on the way to the falls so we stopped. --Sad tragic plane crash... The trailhead to the falls is only about 5 minutes from here.

...Now we have to go back down!
From the Falls viewpoint, the trail continues higher. I believe another hour or so to the top of the falls. However, this was exhausting enough and we still had much more to do on this day...
