Directions:
FREE PARKING!!!  From the 101 Freeway near the 405 Interchange, exit on Balboa and drive north for about a mile.  The park entrance will be on your right.

Let's take a bike ride around the lake

Is this The Barry Sanders?  Looks like a kickball court...

 Wandering around on foot...

 Our chariot awaits us!

 Woodley Lakes Golf Course...

Ayden caught a fish with his bare hands!

 Crossing Bull Creek

We rode around and hiked back here...

This is the second time that I discovered amazing nature life right next to the busiest freeway intersections in the world!  Lake Balboa is a vast area.  Plenty of people grilling lunch on the barbie, kids playing, bikes riding, even a small sail boat?  People fishing, waterfalls, hiking, running, kites -- where am I; Yosemite?  Awesome spot.  I'm glad we found it!

  1. Nice thing about Lake Balboa is in the spring. The cherry blossoms can be really good, if the winter is cold enough and the spring winds and rains hold off for the week or so of peak blossoms.
