 Look Out for Deer

Directions:
From the 101 Freeway in San Luis Obispo, head north to Paso Robles.  Exit on Rt. 46 and head west on Paso Robles Rd.  This become Nacimieto Lake Dr. and continue straight.  Continue on the road for, well, quite a little while...  When you reach the dam, turn left and follow the sign to Lake Nacimieto.  This will lead you to the park entrance' $30.00 for the overnight...

There is a physical address but I will not give it to you.  I obtained this at the visitors center in SLO and confirmed it on the GPS.  The GPS will take you over the dam and down a dead end road.  Wrong way...

 Here we are...

 Indeed

 Eagles Ridge Remote Campground

You'll have the option to camp in several different spots.  Eagles Ridge is the way to go.  Pick up your tent and lug it down the hill.  Find a spot...

 Searching for a good spot...

 leads down to the lake...

 we'll come back here later...

 Yeah, Pineknoll sucks...

It's over populated, too close together -- just filthy there.  Head back to Eagles Ridge and find a decent spot...

 Okay, over there is taken...

 Sun is setting...

Here we go - Let's Camp!

Ayden says, "The water is Cold"

 Marshmallows

So, the deer in the area come right up to your camp.  I advised Ayden not to but he fed one of them a marshmallow.  Pretty cool I suppose...

 The next morning...

$60.00 for four hours - fishing boat...

 Hunting for deer

 Top Speed - 15 MPH!!!

 Water Level is low...

 ah, what a relief!!!

 looks like fun...

 Hey Now!

Birds Nests on the the rock ahead...

 Dude, way cool...

Entering the Narrows - Yes, all the way in a fishing boat!

 Quackies...

 Jump!

 Mooo....

 Bottomed out in the Narrows...

The entire stretch of the Narrows is a No Wake Zone.  Well, we cheated this slightly and eventually paid for it by making a crash landing scrapping the bottom of the river.  It didn't appear to break the prop so I turned it around, Ayden snapped a picture and we began our long ride back.  If we would have had more time, I would have anchored the boat here and explored up river more.  But, it took us 2 hours+ to get here...  At least on the way up we stopped in some of the inlets...

Heading back, Ayden had no life jacket on, he was driving and creating a wake in the Narrows.  The Ranger pulled us over but let us off the hook.  Happy Father's Day!  Boy did I get sun burn from this ride...

Happy Father's Day!!!
