From our Hotel Room at the Disneyland Hotel

Well, don't get too excited because we are not going to Disneyland...

 30" Pizza!!!

Thank You Southwest Traders for inviting us to the convention at the Disneyland Hotel!  Chill Out Frozen Yogurt buys from Southwest Traders and this year they held their trade show at the Disneyland Hotel.  Mark, from Southwest Traders comped our room at the Disneyland Hotel.  Thanks Mark, what a Great Experience!

We spent most of the morning and early afternoon at the convention.  The show was a hit for Chill Out because we added toppings and Frappaccuino's to our menu!  Good Times...

After the show, Ayden and I slid down the water slides at the Disneyland Hotel.  We met a relative of the McGrath Family at the Jacuzzi.  He explained how his relative had to give up the land to the government due to eminent domain.  In turn, they named the Ventura Beachfront Property after the family name, McGrath State Beach.  Of course, last year California shut down 100 State Parks due to budget cuts and McGrath was one of them.  ***If you search my blog for McGrath, you will find a hike I did before the park closed.  Lol, small world, huh...

***Regarding the Pizza Pic; we drove a few miles away from the hotel to Katella and found Manhattan Pizza.  Our GPS listed it as Joe's or Joey's Chicago Style Pizza.  Anyhow, good typical pizza.  The 30" size blew us away so we took a picture with the staff.  (We only ordered a 20" and it made for good leftovers for the next few days :))

In the Hotel next to Goofy's Kitchen...

 Walking through Downtown Disney...

Earl of Sandwich, claiming to be the greatest sandwich ever.  Hmm, I don't think so.  Chill Out has the best sandwich, the Panini.  I state this as fact!  The Ventura County Star took a voting pole and thanks to all of our supporters, Chill Out Frozen Yogurt Won for the best Sandwich in Ventura County!  The official results will be out in May...

We actually ate at the Earl of Sandwich Sunday Morning.  Our breakfast sandwich was okay, but the Seabee Breakfast Panini at Chill Out blows it away; really, it does!  Check it out: www.ChillOutFrozenYogurt.com

Hiking through Downtown Disney; found the Lego Store...

This reminded me of M&M World in Vegas...

Very reasonable prices here, unlike M&M World where they rip you off.  Lego's are expensive, we all know this.  If you ever try buying a copycat Lego brand, you will be very disappointed so Lego's are the way to go.  For just $14.99, you can fill up a large cup and buy any of the Lego's on this wall.  This is a real fair deal and as I write this post right now, Ayden is making a spaceship with the Lego's that he bought last week...

I remember as a kid growing up in Cleveland, the old Higbees building, or was it May Company, hmm, lol, maybe I don't remember...  It was the department store in the Terminal Tower before Tower City was built.  They had the old wooden elevators and 5 foot ceilings in the private hallways.  Anyhow, every Christmas they had a Lego display and you had to guess how many Lego's it took to build the display.  Fond memories, no I never won, but here is my son 30 years later playing with Lego's.  This honestly was the highlight of our 2013 Disney Vacation...

 Build Your Own Ride...

After an hour at Lego's, we spent nearly an hour here as Ayden drove this RC around until the batteries were dead.  Good Times...

 Fish at Quick Silver

 David Wayne - Acoustic Guitar

Street Performers are very common in the LA area.  David was amazing with his quick fingers playing recognizable songs and three times the speed of sound.  I have video of him and one day, I hope to share it.  Always in a rush, I grabbed his business card and deemed sharing his name on my blog because he is worth the visit.

**So this concludes my hike for the day.  Hmm, how can I call this a hike?  Well, walking on pavement is an outdoor activity in a new place.  It hurts the feet, legs and joints more than climbing 1000 feet on a trail.  It's exhausting!  It's a New Trek!  It's a New Hike and there you go...

By the way, the outdoor mall from the Disneyland Hotel leads to the tram pick up for Disneyland.  I suppose you could have figured this out.  You also have a Monorail option to navigate directly to the park.  We had no Interest to go into Disney this time because Alyssa was not with us.  However, I am sure we will return and at some point, Disneyland itself will become a Hike of it's own...
