DAY 88: VTA TUNNEL TRAIL CONNECTOR

Description: A stroll with the kids along the bike path, or in this case, a scooter path
Where: Ventura, CA
Directions: From the 101 Freeway in Ventura, exit on Victoria and drive North. Turn right on Telephone and left on Hill. Park at the end of the street.
You begin this trail where we left off the other day when we hiked under the Victoria Tunnel. No, those are not my dogs but if you follow the cement path to the right from Hill, a field opens up where Johnson Drive ends. This is a popular hangout for the locals to play with their dogs. I've been on Daddy duty all week so my hikes have been short with my kids in mind.
This was a nice place to jog while the kids scooted. They found a wallet on the ground but there was no money inside of it. It turns out that one of the dog owners purposely left it behind to see if anyone was going to grab it, and my kids fell for it. He had the wallet for over a decade and finally retired it.
This path leads out to a condo development. If you walk around it, you will come back out on Johnson. By completing this section, I can now connect all the dots along the walkway next to the 126:
After these three days, hike today's trail: DAY 88 (TODAY) and from here, take Johnson to Telephone and turn left. This takes you to Kimball park where you could hike DAY 14: VTA BARRANCA, which will lead you to the Santa Clara River giving you even more options to hike. Or, you can hike thru DAY 56: KIMBALL PARK. On the other end of Kimball Park, keep going thru DAY 46: KIMBALL TUNNEL.
Well, I just scratched this entire section off my bucket list...
