Day 163: Wednesday April 27, 2011
Another 3 mile hiking adventure running the trails behind the house. We took the main route and I noticed a side trail that I have not tried yet. I will save that hike for the next day. To make today slightly different than any other day, Jess and I ran down the Snake trail and rather than looping back toward our house immediately, as Ayden and I did the other day, we continued to the end. This inevitably led us to the same trail we always take but I did stride across a quarter mile of new dirt...
what a great idea. Hike every day for 1000 days!! I'm way ahead of you. I have hiked 1 hour a day for the past 8 years, ever since I got my dog Lucy. During the week-end I usually go on longer hikes.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work
I appreciate your support and I admire your effort in competing against me. Thing is, I am hiking in a different spot each and every day. Albeit, lately I have not exactly found new land. That said, I continue to venture off any normal course to stake my flag on new soil. I would imagine you generally duplicate your loop; not that there is anything wrong with that. The main goal is to gain the daily activity. The challenge is not the motion itself, but its to maintain the effort somewhere new. Rain or shine or through injury; there will be no break :)
