--The Tripometer for this post is based on the hike through Riverfront Park in Downtown Spokane...

...It was a long drive but rushed to make it into Spokane before sundown.  After checking in to the hotel, which I purposely booked in the heart of the city, we could easily walk into the park which was situated like an island and explore the surroundings.  In the summer, this place can turn festive based on the reviews I read and the carnival tent in the center of the park offering rides and games.

Home of Gonzaga University, known for it's basketball, Spokane is a vibrant oasis miraging out of nowhere...
