Hike #504: El Matador Beach

Day #447 * Hike #504 * New Track #458
Saturday February 4, 2012
El Matador Beach - Malibu, CA

My Tripometer: 2 Hours * 2.5 Miles * +100 Feet

Directions:
From Ventura County take the PCH South.  About a mile south of Decker Canyon Road (23) the park entrance will be on the right.  ***This was my second hike of the day (Escondido Falls).  Coming from the South, go about 4 miles past Kanan Road and the park entrance will be on the left.  There is a $2.00 fee to park in the lot, but today the lot was full.  You can park for free just up the road on PCH and walk a quarter mile to reach the beach trailhead.

Amazing day at the beach.  El Matador is a wide variety of everything; Caves, People, Glamour Models, Seals, Dolphins, Birds, Rock Formations, Island Views, Surfers, Paddle Boarders...  Rather than write anything else, check out the pics from our beach walk:

After the long day, we stopped at Neptunes Net to snack on some greasy fried food :)

Day #448 * Hike #505 * Duplicate Track
Sunday February 5, 2012
Super Bowl Sunday!
Arroyo Verde Park
My Tripometer: 1.5 Hours * 3.5 Miles * +400 Feet

 Sunrise

Easy going day and it's been awhile since I took Sammi to the backyard.  We ran around for a while and then made it back just in time to watch the Giants defeat the Pats in the big game.  I enjoyed a 12-pack of Blue Moon and chips and Guacamole with my wife :)
