The town of Kelso in the State of Washington; Hi Jerry :)

The weather has cleared - good day for a hike!

 the trail

 Lilly Pads

 The Volcano!

 Canadian Goose

 Camp fire in the wetland?

snow capped mountain out of sight

 chopper

 Corn on the cob?

The plan today was to drive up to the Johnston Ridge Visitor Center but we stopped at the first visitor center along the 504.  From the I-5, take exit 49 in Castle Rock and then head east toward Toutle.  The Visitor Center will be on the right just 5 miles up.  Inside they advised that Johnston Ridge is closed for the season.  Normally you can go pretty close to the top but from the webcams that they have at the center, it was a complete whiteout up there.  This is too bad because from the airplane yesterday, we clearly saw the chopped off top of Mt. St. Helens.  I would be able to capture some images later in this trip, but for now, forward march...

Loggers Country - on our way to Aberdeen...
