A legit hiking trail!!!
Trail Map
Heading south down route 17/750 from Myrtle Beach you will enter into the Francis Marion National Forest. Look off to your left for a tiny road called Rosa Glen. Turn left down this road and park your car at the end to begin this journey. If you pass Rosa Glen, you'll see the Swamp Fox Trailhead on your right which is just 1 mile up. U-turn and head back. If you are coming from the south, pass the visitor center and I believe Rosa Glen is approximately 3 miles up on your right...

Cross over a dozen of these bridges
The Time Warner Bridge
We were 1.25 miles into our journey
Entering into a new ecosystem
Out to the ocean
What are they doing out there?
Shells on the trail
This bridge is just after the 2-Mile sign. We turned back shortly after this and ran like a mad dash all the way back to the car. This was a cool, gentle hike/run. Interesting environment - we are not in California anymore!
The Swamp Fox Trailhead a mile up the road
Um... Not today...
The Palmetto Trail continues through the forest and crosses the Steed Creek. I discover this place online and saw pictures of a cool bridge back in here. I called the Francis Marion Forest Ranger and asked about it and she suggested that I hike the Awendaw Passage. So, I did and let this one be. If I ever come back to South Carolina, I may try to hike this section. I really would love to hike these long distances but with work, family, work and life, it's nearly impossible; unless someone would sponsor me to do so???
