 Beginning Backwards...

On our drive from Myrtle Beach to Hilton Head along route 17 we stopped in at the Sewee Visitor Center.  I researched this location before we left but what I did not realize was that the location was closed on Sundays and Mondays.  Just our luck that today was Sunday so we were on our own.

With the parking lot gate being locked we took our chance to park out by the highway and hike in.  The visitor center was straight ahead and to the left but we decided to hike in backwards along the trail to the right as shown in the picture above.

This brought us to a small pond and an open area.  There were no signs so I figured we should turn back...

We saw our first alligator of the trip in this pond

 Turtle

 Gecko

Hmm, lets see where this goes...

Ayden and Jess were scared; Alyssa and I were eager...

 Well hello there...

When we first approached the large cage the wolves were hopping around like bunny rabbits.  Eventually the calmed down but the wolf on the right had his tail in between his legs to suggest that he was scared and likely would have attacked if given the opportunity.  Good think there was a high fence...

We started down this awesome looking trail but there was a post on the ground and one up stating that the trail was closed.  A bit of a bummer but this short journey brought us lots of excitement and some cool pics.  Possibly, the best hike on this trip so far, but much more to come...
