Crossing the River
The early morning rain let up and when I saw the Santee Delta sign to the side of the roadway I wanted to minimally secure a hike just in case the rain would be returning. However, I completely forgot about the mosquitos on the east coast! Near the river and after the rain, oops, we were bit alive! I still have scabs on me as I write this post -- 2 weeks later!
This was an interesting area but with the boating and fishing activity from the locals down by the river, it felt eerie like I was in the move Deliverance.
