Starved Rock State Park - Chicago

2+ Miles - 1 1/2 Hours +Some Elevation

We drove into the very busy park all the way back to the visitor center.  The road system back in here contains winds and turns, quite scenic given the area we were in.  There is a neat trail system, we kept it to the pavement and climbed many stairs, even with the stroller.  Nice look out spots - trail along the river.

The starved rock itself, if I recall, offers its own waterfall system but I think it's only when it rains or something like that.  There is no true good vantage point for pictures of it, other than from air or on boat, because the trail system crawls and climbs over the rock.  You will see the exposed surface -- I guess I'm trying to hype it up, but being from Cali where the trails are remarkable, this area is just overcrowded and okay.  I don't want to take anything away from it because it's still the wilderness, not far from the metropolis.
